Car ad help

First thing, we changed from miles over to km in Ireland around 13 years ago. I know 36 is less than 59, but one thing your car has going for it is that it's not a uk import. Change the units in the ad to km for a start as you'll get people who will just assume it's an import and move on.

It's also listed in donedeal as an estate, which might mess with the filters.

Photos aren't dreadful, but they could be better. Car looks in good nick, so try and take 8 exterior pics from around the car, at 45 degrees to each other . As in front, right side, back, left side, plus one from each corner. Few of the interior too.

Donedeal is set up for landscape photos, so the way you've done them there doesn't really work.

Not sure about the price, but anything for more than handy money is harder to sell as you're competing with dealers who can offer finance and warranty.

The link to the mywheels report doesn't work. It may have expired.

Some work needed on the description.
Listing stuff like passenger airbag isn't that necessary, list the stuff that will make people want to buy it.
It's a 105bhp comfort line. There is no mention of that in the ad.
3 door isn't going to help here as you rule out a lot of potential buyers.
The price is probably the major deciding factor here, I'm not too up of Golf prices, but it looks a tad on the high side to me. I reckon I could get a nearly new 171 Golf diesel mk7 for €20k.

Not knocking the car but it being a 3 door regular Golf will limit it's appeal a bit. Also it's a bit sparse on equipment as towards the end of 2014 was when the Golf got lots of extra equipment as standard such as, sat nav, reversing camera, etc. People are rather fussy these days and may hold out for a higher spec model.

On the plus side, it looks clean and has low mileage, Golfs are still popular and not very difficult to sell. Price is a bit optimistic though.

Looks like a clean car, I'd have landscape only photos and at least one of the wheels (alloys?), I'd also mention smoke free and pet free if applicable, is it taxed, do you have all the keys, nice to have a photo of the service stamps and all the keys

"Viewing highly recommended" sounds like "First to view will buy" - it won't sway anyone.

Are pictures recent? If so say when they were taken. The amount if cars I have viewed recently with pics from 2013..
Add a picture of the engine bay.

As mentioned, you need to redo the ad with hatchback instead of estate, your only going to get a tiny proportion of accidental hits from people who know it's a hatchback they want. Also when the ad is up about 2 weeks you need to rebump the ad so it's fresh at the top in the searches.

    1. Its not an estate,its a hatchback.
    2. Get rid of Photos No.7 & 9. They're too dark and pointless.
    3. Take photos of the car straight on and from the sides too and not from a height or from the floor, take them from the door glass height.
    4. Mention if its taxed, the date/mileage of the last service, if the tyres are new or part worn etc things people are likely to ask.
    6. Take a close up photo of the speedometer/odometer as it cant be read in your current photo so the photo is pointless.
    6. List the spec in bullet points, not a mash of words, leave out the airbags and armrest and alloy wheels, every car has them nowadays and pointing them out is akin to stating it comes with windscreen wipers and headlights.

I have a bugbear about people using the word immaculate when their cars are clearly not. Immaculate means it hasn't a single blemish or mark anywhere, no parking dents, no scuffs on the alloys, no stains on the seats of the carpets. If it has any of those then its NOT immaculate. In fairness your car does look very very clean and tidy.

To Ben fair, a base golf is very basic. Worth listing stuff like alloys and armrest as they're not standard on Golfs.
