Skoda Octavia Mk2 and airbag warning

I am aware there is a known problem with the connectors under the seats.
I have the warning light since moving the seats whilst vacuuming the car.

BUT... when I use an obd adaptor and Torque to scan it reports "no faults".

Is this because it is a diy level adaptor and software? Do I need to go to a dealer?

The light goes out momentarily as it should but comes back on and remains on.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

Torque and generic obd adapters will only read engine faults, you need more advanced diagnostics

    Based in Bray.

Thanks Tossy and rex-x for the replies

Is there a scanner that is recommended for diy use or would they be prohibitively expensive?

There is a Seat dealer close by here and also an ex V.W dealer mechanic so I will go to one of them for this. I'm happy enough doing most things but airbags isn't something I should be messing with.

Bray is a little far, if you were in Kildare i could scan it for you. Any main dealer is going to charge you at least 80e for the pleasure of just scanning it. The Ex VW mechanic sounds like a better bet.

Had same issue the cables under seat needed re soldering as connection was split.

I have ordered a new scanner and the reviews say it will read the airbag faults. No harm in having a "real" scanner anyway.

I can't see cable damage but I will scan it and then maybe solder it up anyway.
