Just looking for a bit of advice.I'm looking at buying a '12 Focus 1.6 diesel with almost 70k miles on the clock. It was well looked after by its previous owner (lady) who serviced it regularly and it passed NCT with no problems. The thing is I have never owned a diesel car before but I do high mileage (15000 + a year) & my mechanic with whom I got my previous car serviced was always advising me to get a diesel car.Would you advise me go for it.I'll be getting a years warranty too.Any issues I should look out for with a '12 Focus?thanks!

Drove one a few years ago , nice, safe, and great on diesel.Perfect for the mileage your doing. If your coming from an oldish petrol you will be surprised at the money you will save.

A quick look at honestjohn.CO.UK will however tell you that this model was plagued with clutch problems. As it's 5 years old now it may have had a replacement already but don't let the reports tarnish your view of the car.All cars have issues, some big , some small.

Spend 20 quid on a history check even if it's from a dealer.
