ESB new customer fee

    Hi, I am just gone sale agreed and looking to do a rough budget for moving in costs for electricity ,gas, tv etc.
    Does anyone know what the cost of a set up fee is with ESB please. The house is occupied at the moment so the have connection.

    There's no cost as such, on the day of handover the previous owner should contact their supplier with a final reading and you then open an account with a supplier of your choice, giving them the starting reading to be noted in case something goes haywire with the previous tenants reading in the meantime.

    The only cost may be that you could be required by the new supplier to give a deposit on the account.
