Recommend a foundation

It's been a long time since I bought a foundation and I'm looking for something new to try.

I had been using bourjois healthy mix and generally liked it. I used to find it would make dry areas on my face appear that I didn't know I had, like around the nose and forehead.

Most recently I've been using up an old tube of garnier bb cream. This looks good texture wise but it's not a great colour match. It also stinks of alcohol so don't think it can be great for you.

I got a sample of the ud naked foundation but that made my forehead and cheeks really dry looking.

I have an oily skin, wondering if its combo since these foundations are highlighting dry bits? I'd like a medium coverage and only need it to last 5-6 hours.

With all that in mind, any recommendations?

I swear by Lancome Teint Idol 24 hour foundation, Im after purchasing my 4th bottle. Id have quite oily skin with a couple of dry patches and once I moisturise well it doesn't cling. Its not the cheapest at 38 euro but they give you a weeks sample if you go to the counter and they've loads of different shades. Might be worth getting the sample to try? :)

My personal favourite is the revlon colour stay! They have a specific one for the oily/combation skin. It's more on the expensive side like it's €18! But it's my holy grail foundation, I've tried some other foundation more recently and always come back to it..

Also a great concealer to compliment that would be the collection lasting perfection concealed... it's the best out there.

It sounds like you might have oily/dehydrated skin. I have normal/dry and love Luminous silk by Giorgio Armani. If you like healthy mix you'll love this.

Is there anything other than more vigilant moisturising j can do for the dehydrated bit? I'm guessing I'll have a similar issue with most foundations?
Thanks for the suggestions all. I will certainly go get some samples.

To increase the look of hydration in my makeup I've found Mac fix+ setting spray is amazing! You can buy it in mini/ travel size to try it too.

Also have you tried the healthy mix serum version? Much nicer for dry skin I've found, I didn't get on with the original formula!

Try a hyaluronic acid serum and a light hydrating moisturiser x

I second this. Hyaluronic acid has really improved my dry/dehydrated patches. The Ordinary do a good one that's really cheap

Superb guys! Thanks for that. Do you leave serum on the skin and then moisturise? Where do you buy the ordinary?

Serum first then moisturise, works better if you lightly spray your face with a thermal water spray before and after applying serum, Avene is my favourite thermal spray and its only like 4 euro for a small bottle. You can buy the ordinary products online.
