My mate and I are in our 30s, normally go on lads holiday once a year as our buddies are all married. Not looking to pick up women or anything Just go.on a few trips and if possible watch some
Soccer matches in pubs and eat out . Fed up with canaries and that.
Was thinking about few days in Barcelona maybe late August / Sept. Assume weather should be ok still in Sept. ?
If ur not mad into history are there other things of interest?
Is it expensive for food / drink and after we have sampled the culture can we find places with reasonably priced drinks where we can watch soccer matches ?
    Thanks in advance

There's a huge festival in Barcelona in September called La Merce - it's well worth being in Barcelona for this because it's loads of fun with a Parade of Giants, a Fire Run with Devils and the Castellers - and lots of open air gigs. The city books up very quickly for this so if you're thinking of going there in September be aware of this.

Weather should be good in September, although Barcelona gets quite a bit of rain. Also - for some reason - I always get bitten alive by mosquitoes in Barcelona - so bring insect repellent. Avoid Irish bars - drink prices are a rip off there. We did a bike tour with Fat Tire Bike Tours which was a lot of fun and a great way to get a feel for the place.

Guard your valuables - Barcelona is notorious for pickpockets and street crime.

I lived in Barcelona for a few years. September is the best time to visit.
Slightly less crowded than July and Augusta and you'll find places to stay are cheaper.
The temperature will be perfect. Not the oven type temperatures that roast you in the summer.

Go on the open topped bus to get your bareing the first day and then decide where you want to go from that.

If you drink the local beer, cava and wine the drink is cheap. If you only drink imported beer it's dearer. I was there in September a few years ago, during the All Ireland hurling final when I still cared about that. Went to about 6 Irish bars and only the last 1 was playing it, all the rest were playing Premiership so you should be grand on the footie front. I also highly recommend Boadas cocktail bar on Las Rambas (spelling??), it's pricey but a great experience. Has a great gatsby feel to it, and when I was there they had no menu, the barman would talk to you and find out what you liked and work from that.

I was in Barcelona in Sept last year with mates, early 30s. Very chilled. The weather was nice and warm (t-shirt weather for sure) although it rained two nights I was there.
