The title of this show got quite a reaction, but it seems to have boiled over. I watched the first episode and it seems like a pretty good series, it also doesn't pad its running time. They have the movie as well, it's a prequel.

I've just seen the first episode so far, haven't seen the movie. Strong writing, good cast, etc. I'll keep going.

Thought this worked far better as a TV series than a film tbh, allowed time to let the various viewpoints get adequately portrayed as opposed to a crazy rush squeezing them all in. Much more natural build in events too. Despite losing some pretty talented actors in the transition, it manages to make the move very well.
The relative silence from the angry mob following its actual release as opposed to when the trailer came out is pretty deafening.

Biggest issue I had with the show was that a lot of the cultural touchstones and whatnot seemed a bit out of date already.

watched the trailer for the TV series and it looked like they were mostly redoing the film?

It redoes the film early on but it continues on from it.

This show doesn't get the attention it deserves here. Season 3 just hit Netflix and already off to a great start.

I know a lot of people judge this show based on nothing but the title, but you really should watch it.

First two seasons were very enjoyable, looking forward to giving the new one a watch at some stage.
