Will it give the wrong impression?

    Hi all

I've been on four dates with a guy over the last few weeks and we get on really well. We've done all the usual date things - cinema, drinks, coffee, food. He wants to meet again tonight and has suggested going out. To be honest I'd like to see him but am not in the mood of going out. If I invite him over for dinner and DVD will he think I mean something else? He hasn't tried anything like that before but there has been some flirty conversations. I don't want to give him the wrong impression but what do you guys think?

Initially, yeah, he probably will as five dates seems about right to start escalating things physically. But you can also just say that too (in fact if you're going to I'd suggest you do or think of an alternative so he doesn't get his hopes up) and use it as an opportunity to set your stall out for what your feelings are on the matter. And if he's a good egg he'll react well. If he's not then he won't and you'll know. Win-win.

God does it??? Seems so soon to me but I'm not very experienced in these sort of things. I'm a bit rubbish to be honest, hence why I'm on here asking for advice!!!

So you reckon I should ask him over but be clear beforehand that dinner and a DVD is all that is on the cards?

    This is pretty sound advice

Like it'd be around the norm for me but everyone is different and you're perfectly entitled to set your own limits for what you're comfortable with and don't feel pressure from what everyone else is doing. Yeah saying it that way is a good way to go about it, it may lead to questioning but open communication is a good thing and let's you draw your boundaries nice and clearly!
