Need help on making my mind up on which one of these two cars, both imports from the UK, to go for.

    Thanks in advance.

    2012 Hyundai I30

    2014 Vauxhall Astra

The Hyundai as the Astra from 2014 has manual windows in the back.

At least it's electric windows in the front.

Those non turbo 1.4 engines in the Astra are woefully slow as the car is too heavy for it.

Are manual rear windows a deal breaker?

In petrol, as above the Hyundai is a better option but in reality both are a bit lethargic. The Astra is a much nicer feeling car to be in. Hyundai might hold its value a little better too (?), Opels tend to depreciate pretty sharpish and Vauxhall badge ones in ROI even moreso.

Why are you going to the UK for these cars? A 2012 Irish i30 so could still have a whisker or manufacturers warranty left, which would be nice peace of mind even if you only got 2-3 months.

The Hyundai in this case. The Astra weighs a lot and struggles. I think the I30 is a nicer all round car too.
