    Libraries. Great places.

But I saw the main library downtown was closed today.

    Anyone know why?

All the Galway libraries shut on the Saturdays before bank holidays. I presume it's because they are normally closed on Mondays so closing Saturday gives the staff a day off.
I love the libraries in Galway- friendly staff and good range of books.

    I see. Thanks.

I usually deal with Westside and I couldn't agree more.

I know most of the staff there and they are super helpful. The automatic check in/check out always works a treat. Even I can work it. There is usually a buzz there. I thinks membership is free or if not it is nominal. The best value in town by a mile.

I recall checking out books from the old library in the courthouse and think how far we have come.

I believe you can now take out up to nine books which is fantastic.

Love how books can be renewed over the phone as well.
