    Hello all,
Have a friend coming over from England for the weekend soon and we are going to Lough Derg for a day or two fishing. I have a boat but have never fished Lough Derg before.

Just looking for some advice on where to launch the boat and where the van would be safe with a trailer on it while we are out on the lake.

    Regards.

Try Terryglass, there's a good slip but it can get busy at weekends, plenty of parking normally.
You can fish in the big bay to the north east.

Thank you very much for getting back to me on this.

There is a water recreation park in Portumna with a slipway. Plenty of parking, quieter than Terryglass.
Halfway up Dominic St, turn Left if Southbound and a km or so down there. It's the next left after the mart.

MountShannon also has a slipway, plenty of parking, probably a bit less isolated than the Portumna slipway.
