Fresh/Frozen cherries in Dublin?

Have a hankering for some Cherry pie.

Made a very successful blueberry one last week & Cherry (C coming after B naturally enough - strangely I did Apple the week before that. Hmmm... maybe I AM doing a Pie-phabet).

Anyway, Dunnes have a great range of frozen berries for just €2 a bag, but cherries aren't in the range so looking for where I could get my hands on some fresh or preferably frozen.

You'll get fresh ones in Tesco or M&S (more likely M&S) and M&S may have frozen ones too.

Keelings will usually have crates of fresh cherries in their farm shop and in supermarkets around June/July when they're in season here. I love cherry pie, even if making one involves stoning almost a hundred cherries

They stock frozen ones in the Polish shop near me. The brand is Hortex.
Maybe try there if you have one nearby.

Cherries are an early-summer fruit, so looks like they're not in season anywhere in the world at the moment (I'm prolly wrong about that :) ), so looking for fresh at the moment may be futile.

Aldi and Lidl both have jars of Morello cherries in their Specials, but man are they sweet.

Tinned cherries any use? Tesco list them.

Tried both Tesco & the local polish shop but neither had them, didn't think of checking for tinned (although I'd much prefer to control the sugar content myself)

Went back up to Tesco & got some canned ones - pricey enough at €1.90 a can, but we'll see how it turns out tomorrow

It was indeed delicious, however, it appears I'm allergic to cherries as moments after biting into a slice, I got a massive headache, sore eyes, the roof of my mouth & my tongue swelled up. Had to take some zirtec & go lie down for a while. So it looks like I'll be sticking to Apple/Blueberry pies from now on :(
