Waiter Salary Dublin

    Hey guys!
Wondering if you can help me. I am moving to Ireland in October from Argentina and I am unsure what the average monthly salary is for a waiter in Dublin.
Minimum wage is around €9.30 per hour which suggests a monthly wage of  €1,100 I think. But looking at average yearly salary on some online job advertising websites, suggests €18,000 per year working out at €1,500 a month. Is this based on a set salary for a waiter or is it based on minimum wage including tips?
How much do you think a waiter earns (average) in a month?
If anyone could explain this to me or give me a better idea of my earning potential per month, I would really appreciate it!
    Thank you in advance.

Remember those figures are before tax, usc etc.. Not too sure what the figures on job sites are suggesting. Remember rent in Dublin is also very expensive.

I used to be a waitress (not in Dublin, but Kerry) and used to make ?9.30 p/hr (min wage at the time was ?8 something!) and would come out with around ?350ish a week as far as I remember.

We used to work 6 days a week (up to 70 hours) but only got paid for 40 hours, the rest was put into holiday balance. This was just what my workplace did for some reason. That was a few years ago now. I didn't get taxed paye as I was a student and only worked full time in the summers. Still was paying prsi and USC.

I would get about ?250 a week in tips on average in the summer I would say, some weeks more. In the winter we actually would close for a few months as it was so quiet. I was just very lucky with the place I worked in. We had a lot of American customers who tipped quite high and not too many staff to divide the tips between.

Being a waiter can actually pay quite if you work somewhere where you can make a lot in tips. But I would say typically if you were working full time you would be getting between ?400 and ?450 a week including tips.

Where are you getting €1100 out of 9.30 per hour?

    Assuming 37.5 hour work week @ 9.30/hr * 52 weeks is €18,135, or €1511 gross per month, €1466 net.

    Adds up to me.

Thanks a lot guys! This is very useful information!
I hope I can get a job in IT as I have now, but is good to know more or less how much a waiter does just in case.
    Again, thanks!
