Hi, we've a Kingspan system that uses a roof-mounted panel made up up of tubes, and this heats our water tank. I think the controller is SC400 (not at home right now to check).

Basically the panel is heating up the glycol, but this is not heating the tank. I called Kingspan's technical line and they reckon the glycol part of the system needs the air bled out of it, or else a full "flush and fill". They've told us that they can send someone out, but they say it will be a month before they can attend.

Does anyone know of someone in the Waterford/south-east area that can carry out this work sooner than that? I'm concerned that the heat building up in the panel during the day is going to damage the system and I think a month's wait is a bit much.

AEI are a Kingspan approved installer. They installed my Kingspan Thermomax solar tube system (I also have the SC400 controller )

And what makes them think it's an air lock? It's a closed system afaik, so not likely air came in. More likely the pump is not pumping. So problem with the pump or with the controller not telling it to pump?

Couldn't tell you... the guy got me to check various things over the phone, plus I told him what error was appearing on the flashing red screen, and that was his diagnosis of the most likely problem.
