How to block a number/messages

I'm getting some hassle from someone at the moment and I need to know if there's anyway of blocking their number. I rang Three and they were less than helpful, said it wasn't something they could do and told me I'd just have to change my number. For numerous reasons that's not an option.

I have a Samsung Galaxy J3 and when I googled, I think I've managed to block calls from this number, but not texts. The best I can get with texts is that they go into a spam filter, but this isn't what I want. I want this person to not be able to send me texts at all. This (link below) is what I tried to do, but it doesn't give me an option to block messages:

Could anybody help me at all please?

Try the Mr. Number app. Block spam or undesirable numbers.

The networks won't block it without Garda instruction.

That being the case, apps on your phone can delete the message instantly but technically you're still receiving them.
