Burn in laminate worktop

Any good tips for fixing up a bad burn spot on a laminate kitchen worktop.

My people are advising me to replace the whole worktop, but I'd like to kick this can down the road for a while.

Did this before. Decided to make a feature of it. Tiled it with 6 tiles creating a hot zone to put pots on. Looked well . Blended in

Could also router out the worktop and put in a slate tile or granite chopping board.

If its in a place that would look reasonable with a hot pot spot just get a very large marble effect tile - you can get them with well finished edges - I got two for €6 each and have them beside the cooker and where the kettle sits - they just sit on my wooden worktop and look great!
