A fond farewell to the Gooch

Winner of all Ireland's. Proud championship GAA man the Gooch retires from national all Ireland GAA and inter county GAA football championship.

Remembered fondly for running in one direction and then another, he'll be fondly remembered for running in both directions like a zig zag in GAA championships.

Internationally renowned and respected GAA all Ireland championship footballer will fondly be missed by all at After Hours during GAA cup final days.

Speaking to a reporter for After Hours the Gooch said thanks to all the supporters for their dedication and support through out the years at training in GAA inter county GAA matches and at Croker the GAA hallowed ground.

What remains to be seen is how the GAA will progress in Kerry and will Kerry national and inter county GAA football manage in the future without it's much sung hero the Gooch who has retired.

So AH, Im thinking of aplying for a job as a sports reporter. This is an initial draft that I want to submit with my resume as a sample of me reporting on big hitting news in the sports. What do you think?

Was just thinking it would actually be great to have an AMA on boards with a current/former GAA star but thats off topic here

As for your article, think you may need to brush up on your knowledge of Gaelic games a wee bit. GAA cup final days? Seriously?

Hup Mayo, I think a mayo man might have done damage to his leg. Heard he was mad for the lush.

But why is he called "The Gooch"? Why not "The Barse" instead?

The only Gooch I know of is cricketer Graham Gooch.

Maybe this GAA fella is named after him?

Most of gooches all irelands were fake anyway.
He and kerry were beaten in the munster championship.
If you're not munster champions then how can you pretend to
    be all ireland champions.
They exploited the technicality of the "qualifier" system to purport to
be all ireland champions when they clearly weren't.

    Mike Ross is retiring too.
You know, that other code that pays its players.

16 of the 32 teams in the group stages of last years champions league weren't domestic league champions.
