house extension side wall

Its a small extension (20 sqm) of a terraced house to the back. builder has suggested to leave some space on one side of the house as the drainage pipe is passing thru it. Can we have a glass wall to this side as new extension wall will be few feet away from the side boundary and it could provide some sunlight.

Just make sure it complies, if its tight it could be a problem: I can't remember how it is measured: from face of glass to inside or centre of wall etc etc.,

sure, will ensure more than 1 m is left to be on the safer side..otherwise may drop the side glass wall idea completely..
