    Hi Lads,

I've recently fallen victim to the love for detailing since purchasing a new car at the start of the year - it's my third car, but the first two were very much machine washed and mistreated before I saw the light with this one.

Have a nice kit built up so far to cover the 2BM, TarX, Auto Wheel, BH Autowash, BH Clay, bit of CarPro Reload and the Microfiber Madness Dry me Crazy towel :) - with that collection sure to grow over time.

http://imgur.com/a/fjr63 - here's a few pics of the "problems/imperfections" on the car - weren't a big deal when I bought the car, but now that I'm trying to keep it as perfect as possible, the imperfections are more obvious to me - wondering would a machine polish sort out some of them?

    Any advice appreciated!

    - First mark does look like a masked off area for painting, but its very strange looking - couldnt say ifit will correct or not without seeing it.
    - The rear scratches - the top one should polish out, the lower, the left side will come out / be improved, but chip and slight gouge will remain, you'll make the overall appearance less obvious
    - The panel gap on the doors is very strange, only for some of the streaks coming from it, Id have said it might be strike-through - the picture is slightly out of 'Focus' (get it, awh sorry) so its hard to say!

Camera on my phone is pure ****e, attached 3 more just to see. The door one is odd because of it's location...and it's pretty smooth. It seems like an odd place to get scratched or damaged.

The "tape" one is pretty subtle too at some angles but still prominent enough to be annoying.

Could you recommend anyone round Dublin who'd do the machine polish on its own? Or are these fixes regarded as a package deal with the corrections done after a full detail?

I'm confident enough with keeping the car in good nick with regular maintenance washes so would hate to pay for someone to do it all for me (that's the fun part!) - but then again I'd probably prefer the experts to look after the other imperfections.

Not a huge priority at the moment, but definitely something I'd be keen to fix up at some stage!

OK, I think I might have an idea....
Is the, lets call it the 'tape mark' defect, on the same side as the 'door gap defect'?

Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on your idea?) they're on opposite sides!

door mark is front passenger, weird tape mark is passenger behind drivers seat!

Hmmmm that doesnt support my theory!

I was thinking that perhaps, the car had a slight tip on the same side, and was guess that door was actually replaced from a breakers, and the damage was sustained while in storage.

It is strange, and one that may require a closer look in person to tell the true story!

Image 1333 of sideskirt looks to me like a backing plate or wool bonnet being used on a rotary has caught it.

Unfortunately I may have made a similar mark on my car once upon a time in a previous life :(
