don't know if its worthy of a thread but bought a packet of frozen avocado a while back to try it out on the basis that it can be awkward timing when they are ripe and when you want to use them. However they seemed to completely lose their texture. I assumed if they are selling them people must be buying them, what are they using them for? anyone have good or bad experience using them?

Think i've bought the same ones! Was getting frustrated buying fresh ones that were, under-ripe, over-ripe or bruised etc. I worked out I was binning half the fresh ones I was buying, so I gave the frozen ones a go.
I use mine in a morning smoothie. Just throw it into my blender with the rest of the ingredients and whizz it up. I was happy with the results, noticed little texture difference in my smoothie, it was a little more chilled though! So, as well as having a bag of the frozen ones, if I get some fresh avocados that I can't get around to using while ripe, I peel, quarter and freeze them as well.

It was Tesco I got them in, I wanted to use them as part of a bake and my wife tried them as a salsa for kids lunch but they wouldn't eat it so they clearly noticed a difference. I guess nuked in a blender with other ingredients it wouldn't matter so much.
