Hello, I'm trying to pick a new colour for our Hall, Stairs and Landing.

We picked out this colour from a house for sale - Any idea what colour it is?

We're looking for Colortrend paint, but think the paint is Farrow and Ball. Either will do. Thanks.

Impossible to say. There's light and shade in the pics and one screenshot will see colors in a slightly different way to another screenshot, also resolutions of the device you are viewing the stuff on differ so the colors I see on my laptop are different from what you see on your device. But having said that it looks like a lilac color so you may want to go in the paintshop and get a color chart and head for the red/blue shades. I know Dulux do little color strips with several different hues of the same color, usually ranging from dark to light. These strips are free so go grab a few and place them on your  pics and try and get a match like that. Good luck (rather nice color by the way!)

    Second Rusty's post....

Have you been in the house or just looking online? If so, you have no idea what colour it is. Off to the paint shop for colour books or charts and see what you fancy. Or some of the paint websites have great tools for seeing what colours match/how rooms would look with different colours

Thanks for all the recommendations. I initially thought this was a "late night" after hours type comment until i realised that it was a real colour!

I have a colour very similar to this I think its 'dusted clay' from Home of Colour. It works well with light and shade and has just a slight tinge of warm grey tone that can seem deeper or lighter depending on the room or the day that's in it. I have it in the hallway where it works great to lighten the space Its a lovely colour and looks great with nice clean sharp whites.

You can always call the estate agent and ask them if the owner knows what colour it is.

But, from experience, I can tell you that the way a colour looks in your home will vary wildly from how it looks in someone else's. Natural and artificial light, flooring, and decor will all change the way colour works in your house. Do yourself a favor and always buy a tester pot or one of those colour sheets and live with the colour for a few days to see how it changes during the day.

If it's Farrow & Ball then it's more than likely Elephant's Breath. If you go to a good paint shop they will be able to mix that colour into Colourtrend paint. I did a few jobs recently with very similar grey from Colourtrend - the colours were Subtle and Oyster Bed.
