    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anybody here used CV writing services in their job search. I admittedly used a few free reviews from various sites with the assumption that they'd find something wrong because they need to make their money somehow. But in all seriousness, has anybody used any CV writing service and found a notable increase in the number of interviews you get called for?

I'm just interested in others' experiences because I'm looking to get back into the 'real world' having been inside academia since 2011 and I'd appreciate any insights.

    Cheers.

Your resume is the most important document you are going to write, if you go for the factory version that tells us something too. It may look good to you, but after you've seen fifty or a hundred it becomes obvious who did and who did not do the resume!

By all means seek advice and tips, but let it be your own work. After all if you are not going to put the work in on something that is important to you, how can an employer expect that you will behave any differently when it is something important to them.
