Vitamin C serum/lotion effective skin lightener?

I heard that Vitamin C is one of the only non-prescription substances that has been known to lighten skin.

My question is what effects would it have for a relatively dark skin tone; I'm not sure if I could get substances like retinol so I would have to stick with vitamin C.

The only problem is that I see very few shops in Dublin sell vitamin C lotion. Anyone know of any?

The ordinary sell both products, you can buy it online from cloud 10 and asos or the ordinary themselves.

For what its worth, I noticed my skin looking a lot brighter after starting to use rosehip oil :-)

La Roche Posay have a Vitamin C cream and Retinol cream. I got them in Boots and have found great improvement in skin tone and texture. Pricey at 40e each but worth it I found. Sometimes Boots have them on offer in their 3 for 2.

I'd look into The Ordinary first as suggested, but it's very worrying that you want to lighten your skin - do you mean like skin bleaching?

Oh I was half asleep when I replied, I took it to mean dark patches or to even skin tone.

Oh no op don't go messing around with your skin without seeing a dermatologist.
