You've answered your own question, no ?

It doesn't say anything about requirements for leaving cert .

Minimum entry is the junior cert, you have a leaving cert which surpasses the junior cert so yes you meet the entry requirements.

I don't think Moloner was in any way insinuating that academically strong mechanics, were in any way inferior or not as good, just pointing out that the role is well suited to people who are mechanically inclined, a quality that can't really be taught, not everyone has, and is invaluable in a role like this.
And the point stands, intelligence comes in many forms, and the acedemic kind is not necessarily Key for a role such as this, that's not to say it's a hinderance or makes a candidate less suitable.

I was just saying there are plenty of academically strong mechanic's . Similar point that moloner made.

Nobody said anything about being inferior.

Hi guys! Just wondering if anyone who has applied received the online tests yet?

  • Registered Users Posts: 919 ✭✭✭Bussywussy

Might be wise to ask apprentices who recently qualified what they thought and how they were treated at the end of it before undertaking this.

    Just today!

Finished them earlier, I believe next stage will be a follow up assessment or interview. Might be next month, any ideas?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5 Pitot_tube

    How did you find them?
Going to do mine on Thursday!

I've done the cadet ship pilot programme assessments in the past, I thought by comparison these were easier but shared similar questions as I recognised quite a number of them. Not difficult but you have to think on your toes so to speak. Best of luck!

    Brilliant! Fingers crossed eh?
    Thanks a million,
    Good luck!

Ok guys, first off I got this info from someone in the industry. Copy and paste.

You will regret it if you join this apprenticeship. This is a guarantee, talk to any of the 50 that have went through, they will all agree.
As trades go this is possibly the worst paid.
Aer Lingus is one of the worst paid within in the industry.
You will receive lower pay throughout the apprenticeship than Stobart ,City jet etc.
You will not receive adequate training.
You will be used as cheap labor for dirty jobs instead of being upskilled.
You will not get a wage increase after each phase like other apprentices. You will have to wait until each year of service.
You will have to work mostly nights unlike other airline apprentices.
Aer Lingus apprentices did not get a contract at the end of their time, instead their apprenticeship was extended to keep them on the apprentice pay.
When a contract was issued they were forced to do permanent nights.
Throughout, you will not receive feedback on your progress.

These are all facts, there is many, many more incidents.
You will regret it, this should be a last resort.

Are the interviews just a video you send to them while questions show up on screen or is there a person on the other end?

Just a video of you answering the question

Do you know what questions they ask?

Has anyone done the video interview as of yet? Curious as to what questions they'd ask

  • Registered Users Posts: 47 PotatoMaster

Hi for anyone who hasn't done it yet I just completed it these were the questions they weren't too bad:
Warm up: tell us about what you know about aer lingus.
Q1: What are 3 words that describe you best?
Q2: Name and explain one situation in which required you to be innovative.
Q3: What are the first 5 words that come into your head when thinking of the word 'Aircraft'?
Q4: What are your strengths and weaknesses?

That's all, they're not too difficult just take your time and revise over answers intentivley prior to doing the interview.
Do you only get one chance to record or what?
