Power Shower Question

    Guys,

I have an existing shower which is gravity fed from the cold tank and hot water cyclinder.
So if I want a shower, I turn the heating on and heat the water.

Im renovation, and adding solar and I don't want an electric shower.
I had a Supajet 200 Power Shower in a previous house for over 10 years without issue and I like that kind of shower.

Is this Triton AS2000XT similar to the Supajet? As in, I just connected it to my cold tank, hot cyclinder feed and then to an existing mains outside the bathroom (socket in adjoining room with separate spur)? That's how the Supajet was connected.

    thanks.

Supajet went out of business years ago. Another company took over this shower. They outsourced the manufacturer of the parts & this was a disaster. This was the most problematic shower I came across in over 30 years (the mira elite qt now holds this record).
The Triton As2000xt or Mira Vigour will suit you. Both good showers. Vigour has only 12 months warranty & as2000xt has 24 months warranty. Parts for the vigour are a rip off & you may find it better value to replace the vigour than repair it if it develops a fault after a few years. Imo the Triton is better value.
As for the installation, taking a spur is usually taken from the immersion assuming that the immersion has RCD protection. If it does not have RCD protection then you must put in RCD protection. You will need a registered electrical contractor to do this. A spur can't be taken from a socket for a power shower. Anything with water must be RCD protected

    Thanks Sleeper,

Maybe my terminology may be incorrect in the way I say the previous unit was wired but I will bear that in mind.

I had the Supajet installed in 2006 and it is still working perfect today (ive rented the house out since).

My sparks will no doubt wire it correctly, im just debating whether to buy now or wait as theres a few for sale on donedeal/adverts brand new.
