Wooden front door - tidying up advice

Can anyone suggest the quickest and cheapest way to tidy up a varnished door? It's a bit faded and the house was pressure washed recently and there are run marks on the door.

It's just to improve the presentation for a house to be sold.

Some residents have varnished their door but that hasn't solved the problem - you can still see the marks!

    Thanks in advance.

You'll get away with a bit of rough sanding to remove any marks or discolouration and then a couple of coats of varnish.

If I got someone to do this, how much would it cost (approx)?

Paint it yourself for less than 40 quid.

It'd be hard to get it for less than a days work: travel there and back, waiting around for coats to dry enough to apply next coat. Not worth the hassle for someone to charge much less. 100-150 plus materials

See if you know someone close who is a little handy with a brush. You don't want someone to make a mess of it, giving the point of tidying it up in the first place. It would take perhaps half a day to prep and apply a few coats - if the person has something else to do whilst the coats dry.

Water based paint drys quickly enough to get the coats on.
