The tank in the C Class is in the spare wheel well. Iirc the tank in those is a 30l but obviously the tank isn't completely empty. You can buy it where ever suits, I think some Maxols and Topaz do it from the pump now.

You can't fill the car straight from the pump can you?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,917 ✭✭✭✭Toyotafanboi

Apparently you can. Havn't seen one myself though.

Yeah its possible but not many places have it. Couldn't name a place off the top of my head but I have come across them before.

Topaz sell it by the litre but I thought you had to put it in a container first.

The unmanned station in ballymount sells it.

It's next to diesel filling outlet.

I haven't seen any pump in tipperary where i could fill up AdBlue directly in just like diesel.

So it's 30 litres? How am i gonna get 30 x 1 bottles? Still got 2000 kms left though

If you can't find a car AdBlue pump to fill from, and don't fancy paying Mercedes through the nose, then most Advance Pitstop / Fast Fit / First Stop tyre centres can fill up AdBlue now. Hell of a lot cheaper than going to a main dealer, or buying 30 x 1 litre bottles.

Thanks for the heads up. There is Advance Pitstop near my home.
Is 30 litres gonna range in the 50 euros?

Advanced pitstop is charging 7 euro per litre.
    Isn't it too pricey?

Thats very pricey, I bought the 10L Bottle Adblue in Halfords for €14

    Jesus, are you sure?

    €7 a litre is a joke.

Wolesale AdBlue (for pump dispensing) costs so little that you could sell it at less than €1 per litre and be making over 100% margin on it.

It's basically piss your buying, anything over €2 a litre is pure extortion.

That's ridiculous. I'm sure we were getting 12l fills on Audis for about 25 quid

The bottles with the cut off valve in them around that price. They are handy to recycle as a funnel for when you buy a bulk container in future. Lots of places retail these for around €7-8 for the 1.8 litre bottles.

It is expensive that way though because you can but the 20 litre bottles for €12-14 ish.

Ford dealers are selling add blue 10 litres for 10 euro cheapest around.

    Last time I went by,it was 79.9 c / litre in Ballymount.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,915 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Damn! Wow!! Multiply that by 10 times and thats what i am getting 😂

Sorry being to ask this stupid question.
This is first car with Adblue and i don't know how many litres are required. It's C class 2015. In the manual, it only says how to view the range left and that it will give warning sign when it's low level.

Doesn't say the tank capacity inside the filler door by any chance?

Should get around 1,000km per litre so any idea what mileage was done since the last fill? First warning should come when there's about 3 litres left.

Google says it's either an 8 litre tank or a 26 litre tank.

Whatever you do, don't spill it over the car as it's highly corrosive.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,915 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Then i say it's 8 litres adblue tank. It says range left is 4100 km and shows half bottle. So 8000 km on a full bottle which will be equal to 8 litres.
    Thank you

Usually the adblue required in the w205 and w213 is between 10 and 20 litres. Mercedes dealers sell it in 10 litre containers, costing approx ?12 + vat.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,915 ✭✭✭masterboy123

Thats actually a good price from the dealer. I was advised to avoid dealer as they could potentially charge 50e

I went there today and sadly they didn't let me use the Adblue pump as i don't have fuel card or something like that. Truck drivers carry that card and they can get adblue directly from the pump with that card.

He might be getting actual piss for that price instead of AdBlue :D

For bulk, pump-dispensed, across a network of service stations the big suppliers are charging between 24-30c per litre. I can't see how anyone would be able to get it for less than 17/18p in the U.K, even if handling delivery themselves.

    They don't think about VAT.

All the prices I'm quoting are ex VAT in the above.

If his friend is running a large fleet of machinery I'd assume he's able to reclaim VAT as well.

I think the difference here is just buying the bottles from the parts shop, versus getting the dealer to fill the car.
