Netflix - How best to set up with Smart TV that uses Sky?

Firstly, I hope that this is the right forum.

We are with Sky.

We have a Sony Bravia TV.

The Sky Box is connected to the internet via a Power Line adapter.

What is my best way of getting Netflix to this TV?

Does your tv have the netflix app? My Sony Bravia remote even has a Netflix button.

Thanks for the reply.

1. The TV is definitely connected to the internet (via Ethernet cable). It says so in Settings.

2. There are no Apps whatsoever visible on the TV.

3. Internet Refresh does nothing to change this. It keeps failing. I don't know why. (Anything to do with being connected to the Sky box?)

4. There isn't a Netflix button on the remote.

What's the TV model?
Some TVs you have to download the app from their own store - I've a samsung and I think I had to do that with netflix the first time.

Not sure what you mean about internet refresh failing - either its connecting or its not. If wired is giving you issues, try wireless..

How old is the TV, does the TV have wifi built in? If the TV doesn't have Wifi the Chromecast is your best option.

Friends had a netflix app on their 'smart' tv.
Slow as %%%% and horrible interface.
Used a chromecast.. flawless.. plus controlling from phone is wayyyyy easier than remote.

Any chance of a link to what Chromecast I should be looking at?

Setup is this;

1. TV in downstairs living room.

2. Virgin modem/router is in upstairs office connected by cable to two computers.

3. iPhone 6S Plus in my hand.

4. Skybox connected to internet via power line adapter - the same one I used to connect to to TV. I've now put it back into the Sky box.

5. TV model is Sony Bravia KDL-40HX703

That's it.

It depends on the manufacturer and software version. The app on my TV is quick and identical to the Android version, and is much easier to control via the remote than the phone.

Your TV is from 2010, no Netflix will be built in or can be added.

Get the basic Chromecast, it supports full HD video which will work with your TV, it simply connects in to the HDMI port, about €40, Argos have them...

If you buy a Chromecast it will work. Only restriction would be if you have no HDMI port free in which case you would need to disconnect one of the other devices using a HDMI port when you want to use the Chromecast.

Do folks here know if the OP's iphone will be ok to cast with? (I use an android phone)

You can cast with a laptop anyway (my mac book works fine)

Chromecast is also handy for youtube /ch4 /spotify OP.
