Archer C5 v2 losing connection to the internet

Seems to be completely random, whether there's one device connected to it or ten, it'll randomly lose connection to the internet. The router will still connect to devices and show signal, it just won't respond to internet requests. Logging on to the router UI and doing a reboot fixes it, but it can reoccur 5 minutes after rebooting, or it can happen after 48hrs of perfect uptime.

Anyone know what I can do aside from doing a hard reset? I've already updated it to the latest firmware (3.17.1 Build 20150908 Rel. 40831).

Bought the router last June and has only started happening frequently in March.

The "modem" is the UPC/Virgin Technicolor TC7200 with the wifi disabled, awful router but don't see how that could be the fault considering the C5 works after a reboot.

Does it work consistently with a direct wired connection?

There's nothing connected to it via ethernet (router and modem on a stand near the TV) so I can't answer unfortunately.

With some googling around it seems it might be an issue with the TC7200 not being in "true bridge mode". Going to try and get a Virgin Media Hub one, then if that fails, will use that snmp tool to enable bridging.

Have you checked to see if you are on an IPv6 address?
