I have one child who is 18 and doing the leaving cert in June and going to college in September, if I applied for FIS before June would I be eligible for it or would I have to wait until they are actually in college in September.

If you satisfy the criteria you would be eligible as your child is in FT education.

I'm worried that while I might satisfy the conditions before June that because my child wont be in full time education between when the leaving cert finishes and college starts that that might be a problem.

They may not pay for summer until September, but if your eligible now why wouldn't you apply

Apply now.Payment is set for 52 weeks if you get awarded. They won't stop it for the summer months if you match the criteria now.

Thanks, I haven't actually got a job yet unfortunately, I'm waiting (very hopefully) to hear back about one, I'll apply asap if I get it.
