Dublin: changing from gas tank to gas main.. advice?

    Hello

    We are in the process of buying a house that has an old gas boiler and unsightly gas tank in the garden. We would like to get rid of both and connect instead to the mains which is on the main road just outside the entrance gate... does anyone have any experience of doing this and have any advice to offer before we begin? We literally have no idea where to start.. any idea on cost? The entrance is shared with the neighbouring house so any idea how long the entrance would be dug up for?

    Ring gas networks ireland. Standard cost is 250 to the the meter in but more if there's a longer route. They're usually in and out in a day and underground bore so there's minimal digging. After that you get an RGI for the heating and boiler install
