Getting ready for mart with calves this morning. Just realised no card for one calf. No trace of registration on system even though I have date written down of day registered. What do I do now?

I assume he's tagged and the sample sent away, did you get any text back for him saying he wasn't reg'd or was clear?
Other than that I'd say you're as well wait til Monday, doubt you'll get any dept folk today to help you. It could be as simple as you went to register him and the internet crashed before his info went through, but if he's not showing up on your online herd it sounds like he's not reg'd.

Yeah he's tagged and sample sent.

Did you not hear anything back from that though? They won't test a sample if it's not registered. Maybe check your texts and see if you got anything for him.

Incorrect. Calf doesn't have to be registered before bvd test is done.

Unless it's changed! This is still on the AHI website-
Should the calf be registered before the sample is taken?
This is not necessary. Because the sample is taken at tagging, you will be tagging (which is the beginning of the registration process) and sampling the calf at the same time. However, you should subsequently avoid any delay in registering the calves as results will not be reported back to you until registration is completed.

Really should be something that flags it up in the system if it's not reg'd.

South Western in Bandon have stopped sending out the letters saying that there is a problem with the registration details.

There is a pulldown tab on Agfood where you can see calves awaiting registration and you can print the letter from there yourself.

I had a 'calf' sitting there for a month or more last year, I never noticed that the card hadn't arrived and got no letter or email saying that there was a problem. I had logged onto Agfood several times and got no notification or popup saying that there was a problem. I only noticed when I copped on the total was wrong.

No but the lab can't upload the results to the department until it is registered. They should ring you about it.
I'd this situation last year except instead of the calf not being registered it was something about a new herd and having to be activated for the lab. The lab thought the calf wasn't registered as they couldn't find it on the system.

The bvd test is done regardless of the calf being registered, a new herd has to be activated to take the info from the lab to up date the cmms status.

That sounds right but when the lab rang me they thought it might be that I hadn't registered the calf yet as they couldn't update the cmms. The test was done alright but I didn't get a text until they updated the cmms.
