Just under a week to go to register for the Tinahely Duathlon 2017. Entries €25 (plus €2.10 booking fee), limited to 130 entrants. Enter here https://register.primoevents.com/ps/event/TinahelyDuathlon2017

For those of ye that are worried about coming last, ye almost get back your entries worth in the bursting goodie bag, and sure you'll have a great day out.

For those of ye worried about coming first, there's specially commissioned Crannmor pottery mugs hand thrown and fired for the winners, and sure you'll have a great day out.

For those of ye in between, you'll be supporting a club race that relies on local help and sponsorship (and still will probably lose money!) to put on what we think is a well-run and interesting course. And sure you'll have a great day out!:)

As is customary, I will offer a bottle of Bordeaux's finest to the fastest Boardsie on the day (in recent years this has been a selfish wager but sure you never know ;))

    Any questions just ask.

All set to go- best of luck to everyone tomorrow!

There are entrants from all over the country, great to see that so many are willing to travel to our race. On behalf of Tinahely Tri Club, thank you for your custom, and we hope you enjoy the race. 130 is the max we can take, and over 115 entrants now, so its almost full. There will be a few entries available on the morning should anyone wish to come along.
Registration 8:00am - 9:45am at Tinahely GAA Club House, School Road, Tinahely. Transition closes at 10:00, race start at 10:30.

    (Don't forget your TI card!;))

Thanks to everyone who raced and marshalled today, wet and windy weather but that didn't get in the way of the enjoyment. There was a real ding-dong at the front, Damien Cauvet running 16:42 for the initial 5k before Noelie Kavanagh stormed the bike (33:07). Advantage to Noelie leaving T2, but some fine running again from Damien saw him overtake during the final 3k run (10:02) and take the plaudits home.

The ladies race was won from the gun by the in-form Ellen Murphy, who knew the course well having also won last year. She put that knowledge to her advantage with a very well-paced effort to finish in a very good 1:09:18 (19:52, 36:13, 12:21). Dena Hogan came home in second, having opting for the roadie (not willing to risk her brand new TT bike) and losing some ground here.

Overall a really good atmosphere, and the solid effort of everyone's racing was perfectly balanced afterwards by plenty of cake, buns, sambo's and tea. Thanks to everyone who travelled here today, and to the army of marshals who stood in the rain. Results

Best Boardsie Bottle of Bordeaux goes to the scarily-improving trailrunner who finished a magnificent 4th :)
