From hearing Duggan there's still €60,000 unaccounted for.

Community Organisations like this should have short contracts. They become closed off to outsiders and the relationships built then facilitate behaviour like funding Rose's Seanad bid.

    No

I don't agree with your interpretation there is €60,000 euros unaccounted for. My reading is that transactions were incorrectly reported.

Speaking on RTÉ's Morning Ireland, Áine Duggan said a number of Glen's financial transactions, many of which were in excess of €60,000, had not been reported in the management accounts, meaning the board was not aware of them.

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

I hope this gets sorted soon. KnowNow HIV testing in Dublin is not being done until the HSE funds GLEN to do it.
We regret to inform all KnowNow service users that we will be postponing all future testing sessions at our Dublin venues until further notice. This is due to a delay in funding allocation for the second year of the service. We hope to have this resolved and service resuming as soon as possible. To access free HIV testing see http://www.man2man.ie/free-testing-map

Duggan is quoted as saying €60,000 not recorded, I'll happily change unaccounted for not recorded. Not incorrectly recorded but not recorded, missing from the books, unaccounted. Though I think we are splitting hairs.

That is not what she said at at all.

I was referencing the journal article and now i have added Irish times.

Ms Duggan told RTɒs Morning Ireland that she became aware of grave issues and irregularities at the charity shortly after being appointed last October. She brought these to the attention of the board and recommended “corrective action”.
A big concern was that a number of financial transactions, totalling more than €60,000, were not being reported in the management accounts seen by the board, she said.

She said that there were transactions of up to €60,000 not recorded in company accounts.

    A) There are a number of transactions
    B) This isn't about 1 transaction of €60,000
    C) She is not saying they were not recorded more that they were recorded incorrectly

Please point to my post where i said it was about 1 transaction?

Did I say it wasn't numerous translations?

Not recorded/ not recorded correctly is the same thing until an investigation regarding motive is completed.

When you initially highlighted this as about €60,000. It's not about €60,000 missing. It's about numerous transactions being recorded incorrectly.

    €60,000 isn't unaccounted for.

I'll bow out of this, I quoted the source twice but you seem to want to argue, so you can go do it with yourself.

Where is the 60,000 then? You're splitting hairs over unaccounted for vs unrecorded. I've seen off books used else where as well. The HSE should not fund an organisation that isn't fully accountable. The matter was serious enough for Duggan to resign. It's an absolute disgrace that the most at risk members of the gay community will pay the price for standards at glen, through reduced health services.

The 60,000 is a random figure. Its not relevant in the sense that people are picking it out as something concrete but it's more of an abstract concept. Duggan was brilliant in exposing this.

I think there are serious corporate governance issues yes. I just don't necessary believe the interpretation that money is gone missing. But maybe I'm wrong. I think the charities regulator and SIPO need to fully investigate.

Sad news, their work was far reaching and still very relevant and important. They will leave quiet a void :(
