Advice please on how to buy with trade-in or sale

    Hi All,

    I'd like to ask people advice on how best to go about buying a 2011 motor with 9 seats.

    I currently have :
    2004 Ford Fiesta 1.4 Automatic. Passed the NCT last Monday
    2003 15 seat Ford Transit Minibus - Tacograph equipped
    2012 50cc Moped (worth about a grand)

    The reason I list the bike is that I'm paying tax/insurance on it and it has a value.
    The minibus requires a seatbelt cert for this year and Engineers report before I can re-test it for the CVRT (NCT like test for commercials).

    What I am wondering is how best to go about this, should I trade in the Fiesta against a 9 seater and sell the other 2 vehicles privately ?

    Any advice or comments appreciated, I'm looking at buying a 2011 VW Shuttle for our needs.

    The minibus will be the hardest to sell. Friend bought one for peanuts (no tachometer required) recently. See if they would give you something for that. Transits of that era are notorious for rust, so I think this is something you need to move on at whatever money.
    Sell the Fiesta and moped privately.



    Someone selling a minibus would be more open to taking another minibus in.

    Thanks for the reply Colm.

    I have had the rust treatment done to the minibus just last year. Now I just need a Seatbelt cert and it is ready to work.
    the bus generates about €600 per trip so I would expect around €3,000 - 4,000 for a 03 model transit.

    I'll sell the others privately.
