Hi, myself and my husband are looking to buy our first property. We have been looking around at both new builds and secondhand homes but nothing has jumped out for us. We have around 180k to spend and wouldnt mind having a house that needs a bit of work done. Our biggest issue is location! Just wonder what areas people think we would get value for money if we were to sell on in years to come! We seen a house lately in shannon vale but unsure of what the area is like? Any opinionsok

Your budget might just be enough for a small three bed semi in one of the outer suburbs but nowhere near enough for one of what are usually referred to as the most desirable areas such as North Circular and South Circular roads, Monaleen and certain parts of Castletroy and Corbally. There is much better value to found outside the city limits in county areas. I don't know exactly where the Shannon Vale area you refer to is, so can't comment about it.
