Using an ash hoover for DIY

    Hi guys,
Has anyone used an ash hoover for cleaning up sawdust after sanding? Saw one on sale and thought it might do the trick, or is it a bad idea?

    Thanks guys for any help.

I'd say it would suck up sawdust fine, and without damage to itself. I imagine ash hoovers have a fine filter to protect the motor

Yeah I remember coal fire ash as being incredibly fine.

Yep, I use my ash hoover more for sucking up sawdust than for the monthly range clean out. Works fine. If I have a lot of cutting to do on the cross cut electric saw I tape the nozzle to the sawdust exhaust outlet.

I re-use all my shavings and sawdust in Molly's coop under her perch.

    TT
