Intermittent loss of acceleration

Hi folks - having some trouble with our car recently and have hit a wall in terms of diagnosing. Very much just learning my way around as I go so could certainly have missed something. Here's the story to date - it's a little long so apologies!

Car is a 1.4 '06 Chevrolet Lacetti - we've had it for around 2 years with minor niggles in that time (window motor) but has flown through 2 NCT's with just oil and filters services yearly and new tyres. Noticed when servicing last time that there was some oil (not a whole lot but enough to notice) in cylinder 4 around the plug - cleaned it off and it returns over a few weeks.

When driving a few weeks ago, the car started hesitating a little on start, and around the same time started dropping in power sometimes on acceleration. The drop in power would always happen once the engine was warm after roughly around 20 minutes of regular driving and ranged from a sudden quick misfire type drop to a complete loss of power. Engine management light came on a signalled towards the EGR system. Knowing that there was a little oil on one of the plugs, I followed the lead back to the ignition coil and the corresponding coil was black. I replaced the ignition coil, leads and plugs and reset the light and this cleared it for a few days. This week, a number of times the power is dropping again intermittently. Engine light on and fault code is P0107 which from a quick search points towards the MAP sensor. Used a guide online (here)to test it and didn't have a vacuum pump but the voltage went down and back up which it says signifies that MAP sensor is fine.

Have since found and sealed a crack in the tube going from the air filter box to the inlet manifold, and given the throttle body a quick clean with tissue. Driving today and same thing again, momentary drop in power when driving which is cleared by accelerating - engine management light back on again with P0107 fault. Feels very much like it's being starved of fuel so maybe fuel pump is shot.

Last thing worth noting is that I brought to a garage after changing the coil/plugs/leads didn't work and they diagnosed it as needing a new cat converter - brought it to be replaced and exhaust crowd tested 5 times to confirm that the cat wasn't the problem.

At a loss for what to check next - any thoughts here? Maybe a better mechanic is the the way to go.

There was oil in cylinder 4 around the plug hole. Did you replace the plug seals to sort that? Is plug no.4 getting fouled and causing some of your problems?

Could be - I've ordered the seal set and just waiting on it currently. The oil seems to be coming in from the top rather than the bottom as it's on the ceramic, which I'm lead to believe would indicate the seals being gone rather than something worse (fingers crossed). Not sure if it's causing the stuttering problem, but very well could be I guess.
