Are there any performance air filters for a 2012 520d.

I've no luck on the K&N website.

    And an update :

Hello, thank you for your interest in our products.

Unfortunately we don’t have an air filter available for this BMW F10/F11 520 diesel N47 . The inefficient and complex shape of this air filter make it impossible for use to make one with our filter media.

    With kindest regards,

So that's knocked that on the head.

Just take out the filter, it'll run much better (for quite some time anyway)

    On a serious note..

ITG do a filter according to their website, a far superior product to K&N. K&N are oil based filters where as ITG are dry.

I've only ever used one K&N filter and it killed a MAF in 30 minutes, it was a rather large cone filter though :D

I used an ITG filter in my last S3 and found it great, i've a REVO filter waiting waiting to go into my current S3 - i'm lead to believe they are made by ITG and re branded.

George Dalton on here is a Revo dealer, give him a shout and see if he can supply a filter.

ITG's are oiled too but the oil is like treacle and doesn't get pulled onto the maf.
I've had ITG filters in most of my cars, Revo as mentioned and also VW Racing use rebranded ITG's.

ITG dont have an air filter for an F10 520d either, only the 520i

I guess its all down the the design of the original part.

I was just looking for something, that was plug and play. I'm not looking for an induction kit.

Hopefully this thread will be of use to someone else.

I'll need the car for a while... so that's not an option.

Anyway.. I'm sure the air fillet is there for a reason.
