    Hi Guys,

Looking to get a ballpark figure on a repair to see if Im geeting a ok price from my mechanic or not.

Car had warning light up that 2 of the 4 injectors were misfiring so he took them out and replaced with reconditioned ones. At the same time he replaced all 4 as said that the other 2 were going to go soon afterwards if just replaced 2.

When he was in there he saus that the DPF was in bad shape also so has replaced that.

He has done the work now so not like I can change it as I told him to get it right as have NCT next month.

    Price is €740 for everything.

I think it seems fine but just wanted opinions

    Thanks

I got 4 commonrail injectors reconditioned for €550 recently including all the labour so your price sounds right on the money. Brand new injectors are often about €200-300 or even more a pop.

Edit: ...and bad injectors could cause the DPF to get blocked due to excessive carbon build up so sounds like your mechanic is right on the ball.

Mind if I ask what year and mileage you had this failure?

Did he clean the DPF, replace it or remove it? €740 for replacing all 4 injectors and the DPF seems very cheap.

He's local guy in his shed so generally low overheads. Says he put new dpf in so hoping dats what he did

2011 regarding with about 70000kn on clock so low enough. Bought it 2 year ago with 40000km. Why do you ask?

Almost seems too cheap. I would have expected the DPF alone to cost over €1k. Are you sure he didn't just clear your old one? Even if he did, with 4 reckon injectors, that's a decent price.

I was talking to him over the phone and thought he said he replaced it but maybe he said he cleaned it
