Genesis Equilibrium dura ace size 50

Selling the mrs's training bike if anyone is interested.

2014 frame. Lady owner. Regularly used, regularly serviced. Dura ace 7800 chainset (39:53), shifters, and front mech, with an ultegra rear mech. Brake calipers are long reach Shimano to accomodate larger tire sizes and mudguards for winter training. Carbon bars, new chain, cables, cassette and bottle holders. Eagle-eyed buyers might have spotted the Garmin pedals - they're not included in the sale


500 quid.

Price must be wrong, so I'm going to re-adjust to 500 quid. Gotsta be a nice bike for that.

I've noticed this a lot with bikes priced around the 500 mark. The B2W pops into peoples minds and they see a new bike there for similar money.

Also a lot of folks aren't keen on the older style shifters even though they work aswell if not better than the bar routed shifters.

If it were me I'd strip the dura ace and sell it seperately pick up something cheaper and sell it off as a proper winter/commuter bike with mud guards and a cheap rack off planet x.

I'm almost talking myself into buying it :eek:

I think the older groupset really suits the sort of retro Genesis look. But I think it's just the size. You see it on donedeal if you keep an eye on the ads. 54's to 57's - that's where the meat of the market is. Most blokes are sort of that height and those bikes don't hang around. Go up to size 60's and down to 50's and the market just isn't there. Size 50 is a small bloke or a lady and the ladies seem only to have eyes for Giant Avails and Scott Contessas and the like - pink decals, leaden wheels and shimano claris for 899 euro:rolleyes:

I have that exact bike in a 54 and I'm going to fit the exact same groupset.

It's a lovely frame to ride and look at.

One of the best groupset made in terms of performance and longevity.

Decent wheels and finishing kit.

It's a steal at 700. It looks immaculate.

Do you not have kids who cycle? Stick in the attic until it fits one of them

Well, it's not immaculate. It's no garage queen, it's seen plenty of training and of course it's picked up a few environmental scars as a result but it polishes up very pleasingly.

On the kids - would that our attic was bloody big enough, and they have new bikes coming (today actually!) so at some point you have to make a sale! . And anyway, despite my best efforts the shaggers are showing only a passing in cycling. :rolleyes:

you don't see enough genesises (geneses?) on the roads. i know a chap who was looking for a size 50 for his wife, but i think he got sorted, will mention it to him though.

i sent it along to my colleague, whose wife is sorted for a bike, with one caveat that the one she has is a bit over-geared for her; but it's the same gearing as on the one above. maybe if you had a compact to throw on it, you might get more interest?

Yerra tis the want of a compact myself that kinda has the bike for sale!

That generation DA would take up to a 28 at the back which is a pretty low gear. That's the setup I had myself for a Marmotte and it did the job.

Thanks for the sales effort anyway.
