I have a 2004 colt 1.3 that needs a timing belt done but its a Japanese import. Does anyone know if its the standard 4A90 engine for both the European and Japanese versions? Does Mitsubishi in general have different timing belt types between Euroand Japanese versions?

Try blueprint for the belt. I got caught with a jap import diesel starlet, the belt supplied by Toyota themselves was completely different to the belt I'd taken off, the spacings between the teeth on the belt were wrong and the profile of the teeth was different too. A local Auto Factor saved my skin by getting me a blueprint belt. Toyota wouldn't take the wrong belt back either as they had ordered it in for me, dems de breaks as they say.
