    Hi,

I am currently employed as an intern in a company in Ireland and I need to open an Irish bank account to receive my salary. One of the requirement to open one is a proof of address but I don't have the required documents, I have asked my landlady (I am a tenant) to provide me with a utility bill but it appears to be taking some time. What I have however is an employer letter which was a sufficient proof of address to get my PPS number, can I also use it to open a bank account ?
Also, how long does it take to actually open the account (once I have provided all the information/documents at my branch) ?

    Thank you.

    Hi Palba87,

Thanks for contacting us on Boards.

We would not accept a letter from an employer as your proof of address. However if you have a letter from Revenue Commissioner or the Department of Social Protection this can be accepted. Once the full account opening documentation is provided, your account will be open within a few days and you will receive a text containing your BIC and IBAN details.

    Thanks,
    Sarah
