Paddy Power In Store Betting Machines

Does anyone know if these are managed externally or by an outside company?

I've noticed before they would have different prices on some horses / football matches than in store.

I used it today for the Grand National (my horse placed 5th) but when I went to collect (e/w bet) I was told it was a losing bet.

When I queried it I was told the machines were only paying out on the first 4 in that race. Instore and Online were paying out on the first 6.

As far as I know the machine never displays how many they are paying out on in the race so I was oblivious and just presumed I'd get the same (first 6) as Instore / online.

It's external, I lost a betting slip one time from a machine, asked girl at counter could she do anything and she said it's a different company.

    careful with them machines
My mate stuck 10euro in it the other day, it took the 10er but didnt register on the machine,
Ask the girl behind the counter to check it (she was a moany ....)
she opened the machine and said it was fine

mate lost a 10er she said she couldnt prove he stuck it in, we asked her to check the cameras she said its not her job,
long story short it took 2 hours to get his money back by the time management said give it to him.

That was only a 10er me mate would tore the shop apart if it was a 50 going in which is normally what he throws in.

I noticed that sometimes the prices are worse on the machine than on the in shop screens alright.
That's unfair if the machine didn't pay out on the extra places in the National the same as the shop itself was doing.

These machines may very well be a franchised space to Playtech BGT, but they are very much on Paddy Power property and marketed and badged with PP logos.

Paddy Power have the contract with Playtech BGT. Paddy Power are paying the licence cost to have these on their premises.

Lay the problem at their door. Take to Twitter if you have found it misleading.

The last time I checked FOBTs where illegal anyway, so I don't know how PP are circumventing the law.

These are definitely owned by P Power as I'm sure Paddy Power send out texts regarding free bets on these.
They also provide in-store bets that have the 'PP logo' on it so they should be paying out the extra place.

Odds are always worse so I'm not sure why people even use these in the first place. Should be banned.

I agree - I've never once experienced better odds on these machines so i'm at a bit of a loss as to why anyone would use them? Also, are these the FOBT that people refer to as the crack cocaine of gambling? I don't see how they're any more addictive than other forms of gambling or am I missing something.

No they are not FOBTS. FOBTS are on these type machines but they are roulette and other games like that. They are banned in Ireland and rightly so.

FOBT are roulette games. You'll find them in the U.K.

The pp terminals offer sports betting as far as I know though I've never had reason to go near them.
