Would anyone know from experience what the waiting time is for to get accepted with HAP? I just applied and have all the forms done and sorted and sent away. next step is getting an agreement. I have a disability also. would it be months or a year or what would be the rough time frame?

In the county I'm in, subject to you having given them all the documentation, you would be waiting about 2 weeks.

so it varies from county to county? if i ring my local county council office should they give me a estimated timeframe?

I'd imagine they'd be able to give you a good estimate

Hi op, when you mentioned applying for HAP, is this get on the social housing list? If you are already on the housing list you would be automatically approved for HAP as far as I know. Have you received the hap forms for you and your landlord to fill out?

When I moved to Galway early this year I was told it was at least 8 weeks, but thankfully I still qualify for Rent Allowance. Took nearly that long to get it but that was error on their part.
