How will most people be affected by the new rates. If a lot of people are going to be worse off why did the unions agree to these.

I'm interested in hearing a range of viewpoints.

I saw the memo but didn't read the detail. How would anyone be worse off?

Will more than likely cost me money but I'm not too bothered about it.

Would have much preferred if my Union had ensured that mileage is paid in all cases instead of only claiming cost of public transport which is mandatory in many cases. It often costs me money to attend meetings I have to attend.

I usually take into account the cost of my time in making this calculation. If travelling by car is cheaper overall, then go for it. If they only pay public transport, then take public transport.
