It really depends upon how you define "Contemporary?" Are you referring to modern or post-modern philosophers as "contemporary," or whether or not they are living at this moment in time, or if their philosophies have "contemporary" meaning and value?

I see Irish philosophers and their philosophies in a continuum, with impacts of their thoughts occurring in the past and leading all the way up to the present day, making it difficult to distinguish or draw a line in the sand where they begin and where they end. For example, George Berkeley's immaterialism (Principles of Human Knowledge) of yesteryear as important today, although controversial for its time, yet finding several "contemporary" debates arising today associated with positions taken in contrast to recent empirical studies in neuroscience; i.e., do past Irish philosophers have "contemporary" relevance?

If by "contemporary" you mean living today, there several. For example, you might want to review the works of William Desmond (born Cork 1951) as it pertains to ontology, metaphysics, and ethics (Ethics and the Between, 2001).

If you mean an Irish philosopher making as great an impact as other notable contemporary philosophers around the world and perhaps less influential. In this way no. There are not as many. But there are some.

If you are asking are there simply Irish contemporary philosophers yes.

Humanities Mark Dooley.Philip Pettit Epistemology Maria Baghramian Logician George Hughes Metaphysics and ontology William Desmond as Black Swan suggests.

There is more of a tendency to be a student of other philosopher's work than to produce their own. And if they do it's generally not given international review unfortunately.
    Check out philosophy Ireland.

I think Ireland has produced some great academics. But not as big personalities in philosophy that draw attention in the public eye.

If you are looking for influential philosophers Peter Simons might be an exception to the rule . Here is his home page. https://sites.google.com/site/petermsimons/ He is actually very influential internationally in applying metaphysics and ontology to non-philosophical disciplines, especially in engineering.
