Face mask recommendations

    Hi all

I seem to be the only one of my group of friends that doesn't go for regular facials!

What am I missing out on?!

I use face wipes or botanics make up remover, and moisturise the odd time.

Does anyone have any recommendations on face masks or products that don't cost an arm and a leg for a minimal fuss 30 year old lady?!

I like the Boots Botanics clay mask, it lasts ages and leaves your skin very soft. Probably not great for very dry skin though.

I use moisturiser with SPF 30 (sometimes 50) every day and a night cream in the evening. Once you get into the habit it's no hassle at all. I use Olay for moisturisers.

It's help with recommendations to know what skin concerns you want to address as different masks do different things?
    Any price range in particular?

I'm not sure! What are the different things should want for my skin?!
I don't get spots usually and it could be a busy lifestyle with stress but have noticed a few pimples recently and my skin isn't as smooth or clear I guess as I'd like.
    I have combination skin
Sorry for the lack of detail, I'm just not into facial products much!
I'm not looking to pay 40 or 50 euro for any products!

I got the Avene Cleanance mask recently and i find it great. I think it's good for spots and combination skin. You add a little water after 5 mins and rub it around your face then wash it off. My skin has been quite bad lately but i really think it's helping. It's about 16 euro i think.

I love the white glam glow face mask. Hated the original black one.

At the moment i'm using the image skincare mask. Got it as a present off my husband for Christmas and i'm converted to all their Vital C range. Find it great.

EDIT: Both come in at around €30, sorry might be too much for your first mask!

Stop using face wipes. Get a cleanser and a decent moisturiser one with SPF and if you can afford a night one! You prob won't really need to do masks then if you do that small bit! Decent dosent have to be expensive either! Or you could get a something that is 3 for 2 in boots they often do it with the higher end brand!

Penneys do many masks all very cheaply priced for different skin types

Define 'decent'! I'm looking for specific suggestions rather than general. I don't use face wipes often. My mum has good skin and doesn't use products- just a bit of cheap moisturiser.

I don't have problematic skin but I just thought I may be able to make it even better and wondered what all of these facials do!

Decent like just good! Even lidl/aldi have great ones! One that does it's job good! You can get some that are crap!
Chances are if your Mam has good skin and doesn't use anything you let skin will be the same!

Maybe a brightening facemask or something?

    La Roche Posay is nice.
No7 from boots I found quite good always got a set as a present at Xmas so not sure on price think it's kinda on the expensive side? You could get samples of that and see how you found it before buying tho?
There the last two I used properly that I liked. I'm using image at the moment but I don't think that would suit you!

I'm not a big fan of elaborate routines, but please don't dismiss the spf moisturiser suggestion.

My skin is quite delicate and can't handle heavy creams or washes. I wash my face in the morning just with a facecloth and water and then use a lightweight moisturiser (la Roche posay) but it doesn't have spf. I use foundation that has spf though.

Now and then I exfoliate and use the garnier moisture bomb tissue mask.

But wear sunscreen. It prevents damage that won't otherwise show until your 60s.

I'm not a fan of the sun and sometimes just wear a tinted moisturiser with SPF. If I'm on holidays I'd wear factor 50!

Thanks for the suggestions, will look up those and try one. Will let ye know how I get on

Any recommendations for someone with oily skin? I get quite a few small blackheads and spots on my nose and between the creases. I use Tea Tree Boots Exfoliating pads and Una Brennan Salicylic acid Anti Blemish Cleansing Wash. I also tried Tea tree face mask but I didn't find it great.

Did you try Garnier pure active heating mask?

I bought the Body shop Chinese Ginseng & Rice Clarifying Polishing Mask in October and I only ran out of it in February, I used it regularly like a few times a week so it lasts ages and it's really good, really perked my skin up and left it healthy and smooth. I think it cost about 20 euro but its worth it, theres no Body shop near me but as soon as I get the chance ill be repurchasing it. They also have a rose one and an Ethiopian honey nourishing mask that look really good too.

The face mask I would definitely recommend would be the boots own brand charcoal and witch hazel! I have very red and oily complexion but once I put this on it soothes my skin completely. And for €5 it's a bargain.

I've tried recently the L'Oréal clay mask and my skin doesn't agree as much. It's an okay product but I wouldn't repurchase it over my boots one

I tried this one from Boots recently: Boots Ingredients Radiance & Brightening

It's a sheet mask and made my skin look fab after! You don't wash it off you rub it onto your skin when you take the sheet off. I've combination skin.

If anyone is interested in the L'Oreal masks they are only €7 in Penneys & they also have a small pot of each of them for €5.
