Does anyone know if Penneys in Ireland carry the exact same stock as they do in their US Primark stores?

Am heading to New York and thinking of visiting their staten Island store, but no point of they carry the exact same stock as here.

Well... That sounds like an interesting new york trip, apparently they've a supermacs just opening in times square, maybe you can wash your shopping down with a snack box.

There would be some stock bought solely for the US market from local suppliers but the stock in the States is ordered by the same people who order for the Irish market

That's quite unnecessary and not helpful to OP - please keep on topic.

Hi. I'm not sure about the Us stores but was recently in Primark in Madrid and in London.
The store in Madrid is a huge 5 floors. I saw all the same stock as at home and more. Maybe because its bigger its laid out differently but I thought they had stock I didn't see here. I was in the Oxford St branch in London last week and they also seemed to have loads more range than here but again it is a much larger store than we would ever have here.

The primark in Belfast has different stuff then Dublin. Each country has its own buyers. Alot of the same things, but each country would have some different things. Always pick up some great bits when i'm in Belfast that no-one else has at home which is nice :)

Yea that's my thinking. I like Penney's stuff but it's annoying when you walk down the street and pass 3 people wearing the same thing. I would stock up at one of their Primark stores if it was completely different stock!

If you look at Primark's Instagram they often specify stuff as being in their Irish and US stores but not in the UK stores so it may only be the UK that has different buyers.. See the attached for an example.

There is definitely crossover in stock between countries. I am often on Primark in La Zenia Boulevard and it has items which were available here. Similarly with Madrid store last year. However there were items which were available here which weren't in stock in Spain (and vice versa).
I don't think I would go out of my way to travel to the store in New York. Too many other original clothing options available over there.

As others have said there are far better shopping options in New York! I'm very jealous of you!

However I go to Derry city once a year visiting and usually go into Primark and they have a lot of different stock to my local store in the midlands. Same when I visited Scotland last year, different stock that I haven't seen back home.

But getting back to your post - if you happen to pass Primark in NYC and have some free time do pop in but I think there are so many better options to spend your limited time and money on in such a fab city.

Any other suggestions for those of us shopping on a tight budget in NYC? Last time I was there, it was a brief trip and only managed to pop into one or 2 stores that gave me the impression branded items are more expensive there than here.

Yea, you're right it's a bit out of the way but am going to be there for 2 weeks so I can afford to make the trek if it's worthwhile.

It's many years since I was in NYC (would love to return). I don't know if Century 21 is still there, it was beside Ground Zero, it was like TK Maxx but I remember getting some good bargains. We hit on some bargain in Macys too. It was the week after Black Friday when we went so that might have helped. We didn't get as much shopping as we would have liked with a child and getting sightseeing done. I don't know about the Outlet centres outside the city.

Century 21 is still there in lower Manhatten, and there's another one at Columbus Circle. Great bargains to be had, especially in the final clearance section - like TK Maxx, be prepared to rummage and bring water (although in fairness, they sell bottled water at every checkout).
Burlington is another discount store, the one at Union Square is the best - hit and miss but worth a rummage!
Marshall's is similar again, I like the one in Chelsea.
Macys can be brilliant depending on what you're looking for, don't forget to bring your passport to the little hatch where they'll give you a 20% off coupon that probably won't scan for any item you actually want to buy!
I don't think the outlets are worth the busfare unless you're planning to spend serious money on branded stuff.
Don't expect value from the branded stores around Time Square - look outside of this zone for better value on sale items etc.
If you're looking for jeans OMG have 4 or 5 stores along Broadway with very good value on certain brands, but beware, they're unbelievably dishonest so make sure the item they put in the bag is the one you chose!
Look out for sample sales, you never know what designer stuff you might pick up for a song.

Thanks! Some great tips there! I agree with you on the outlet stores, I heard great things but didn't find much value there the time I went. I will be certain to follow up some of your suggestions!
