As the title says . I know you can't cut/ remove bushes but can you kill them off with spraying now ?

This whole area is a minefield, cj.

My understanding from talking to a rep from one of the spray companies last year is you can spray under wire along ditches but only for weeds that are taking current from an electric fence like briars, thistles and nettles.

Anything else would have to be cut back by hand until the hedge cutting season starts again.

My understanding is that you cannot spray bushes on ditches but I can't get an answer either way as to whether you can spray bushes that have encroached into fields.

I would be interested in hearing from someone that can answer your question too:confused:

Plan to spray under fences next weekend and that includes any whyns (gorse) on the farm, nearly all eradicated now.

What herbicide are you going to use. I have used brushwood killer in the past but it's awfully expensive.

I not up to date about the new greening rules but I do know that a farmer has to maintain her fences under SFP/BPS regulations.
